Bengaluru: e-commerce marketplace Flipkart has introduced health insurance plans on its website, in collaboration with ICICI Lombard and Go Digit General Insurance, which explicitly covers COVID-19.
Enabling health cover for customers facing the global pandemic, the two health insurance plans come with immediate claim advantages and at the time of payment do not require any medical testing.
According to industry figures, no health insurance scheme protects about 56 percent of the Indian population.
ICICI Lombard’s COVID-19 Insurance Cover includes an immediate Rs 25,000
compensation package payable to the consumer on successful COVID-19 diagnosis.
It gets priced at an annual Rs 159 premium. In addition, the program offers coverage for primary insurance, interactive and teleconsultation services, and emergency assistance.
It helps Flipkart’s customers to apply to the insurer for processing digital copies of the claim paper.
The Digit Illness Group Insurance provided by Digit Insurance provides customers with an annual premium of Rs 511 to take advantage of a hospitalization cover up to a guaranteed amount of Rs 1 lakh.
Furthermore, there is no limit on room rental or intensive care unit.
The agreement includes pre-hospitalization 30 days and post-hospitalization costs 60 days.
