Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, who started an initiative to provide employment for migrant workers after months of helping them get back to their native places, has now helped secure a job for an out-of-work software engineer. As per the video uploaded to Twitter, the engineer was fired at Covid-19 during the lockdown and forced to sell vegetables for a living.

A user wrote, “Dear @SonuSood Sir, She’s Sharada, a techie recently fired from @VirtusaCorp Hyd in the midst of Covid ‘s crisis. Without giving up, she’s selling vegetables to help her family survive. Please see if you could support her anyway. Hope you’ll revert sir.”

Sonu tweeted a late Monday update, and said, “My official met with her. Interview done. Job letter which has already been submitted. Jai hind

Sonu helped migrant workers enter their native places during the lockdown that ended on May 31 and the following months, when all businesses were shut down , leaving them homeless and unemployed. He launched a new program earlier this month which will help migrants secure employment. Called Pravasi Rojgar, the app provides all the information and links required for the migrant workers to find jobs.

Sharing the job site connection and a contact number, the Pravasi Rojgar handle had tweeted, “Seeking skilled workforce to expand your business? Search from our extensive candidate base and get skilled workers for your exact job needs. Contribute to our cause to help create livelihoods. Call us at 1800 121 664422 or Enrol with us at http://pravasirojgar.com.”
