Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi and Kabir Khan’s 83, two of the year’s biggest releases, were pushed because of the unprecedented coronavirus pandemic that forced the theaters to shut down across the world. Now, PVR Pictures has announced new release dates for them — Sooryavanshi will hit the theaters on Diwali 2020, while 83 will open on Christmas 2020.

The latest in Rohit Shetty’s cop franchise, Sooryavanshi features Akshay Kumar as ACP Veer Sooryavanshi’s anti-terrorist squad leader. Starring Katrina Kaif as the lead lady, the film will also have special appearances as inspector Bajirao Singham and inspector Sangram Bhalerao aka Simmba, respectively, by Ajay Devgn and Ranveer Singh.
83, meanwhile, will tell the tale of how Team India produced history by for the first time winning the ICC Cricket World Cup in 1983. Former captain Kapil Dev and his wife Romi Bhatia will be seen as Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone. There is also an ensemble cast in the film, including Pankaj Tripathi, Boman Irani, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Harrdy Sandhu
