On Thursday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended his government’s assistance to States affected by Cyclone Amphan.
He said in a series of tweets: “We have seen visuals from West Bengal about the destruction caused by Cyclone Amphan. In this daunting hour, the entire nation stands in solidarity with West Bengal. Praying for the well-being of the people of the state.
NDRF teams operate in the affected areas of the cyclone. Top officials track the situation closely and also operate in good collaboration with the government of West Bengal. No stone will be left unturned in helping the affected.
He added: “My thoughts are with the Odisha people as the state bravely fights the effects of Cyclone Amphan. Authorities are working on the ground to provide all necessary assistance to those affected. I hope that the situation will normalize as soon as possible.”
