Home Minister Amit Shah will inaugurate the new police headquarters built right in front of YMCA on Jai Singh Road, behind Parliament Street Police Station. On this occasion, Minister of State for Home Kishan Reddy and Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal will be present along with many other officials. With this, the name of Amit Shah as Home Minister and Amulya Patnaik as Commissioner of Police will also be recorded in the history of Delhi Police. The date of inauguration of the new police headquarters has also been chosen very special, because today is also the birth anniversary of the country’s first Home Minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. This is the reason why not only the statue of Sardar Patel has been installed in the new Police Headquarters, but also many of his rare and historical pictures associated with Delhi Police have been framed in the ground floor lobby and corridor. The most important thing is that after 1976, Delhi Police will now be able to go to its new headquarters. Prior to this, there used to be the headquarters of Delhi Police in Kashmiri Gate area. Right now the police headquarters in PWD building on ITO, but now police will have police headquarters in its own building. Delhi Police officials said that after independence, Sardar Patel took the salute of the first parade of Delhi Police. Sardar Patel’s photographs have also been gambled with senior officers of Delhi Police. The way the picture of Mahatma Gandhi is engraved on the wall of the present Palis headquarters located on the Itoas. Along the same lines, a large picture of Sardar Patel with Mahatma Gandhi has been carved on the exterior of the building of the police headquarters.
This 17-storey building on 09 acres has been built on the basis of a public-private partnership building, but police officials have made it clear that it will be used solely for the Delhi Police. – This building has 2 towers, in which police officers’ offices are built.

At present, the floor of this building is fully ready and it is being told that the offices of all officers from Police Commissioner to Joint Commissioner Rack will be shifted to this building this week. Other officers’ offices, police control rooms and others Offices will also be gradually shifted here. A two-storey basement parking is also built in 1 building. Also a museum showing the history of Delhi Police has also been built. The new police office built on the concept of green building has also been given the Mr. Star rating for energy efficiency.
Boom barriers have been installed at the entry gates for security, which will be opened automatically by sensing a special stickers soon to be installed on the vehicles of police officers. The rest of the people will be allowed to take the car inside only after getting permission. Glass entry gates equipped with sensor systems have also been installed inside the building.
