As the Premier League club said, Chelsea forward Olivier Giroud and goalkeeper Willy Caballero signed one-year contract extensions until the end of the season 2020-21.
Giroud joined Chelsea from London’s Arsenal rivals in January 2018 and the 33-year-old scored three goals in 13 matches in all this season’s competitions, playing most prominently at the beginning of the year when Tammy Abraham was injured.
“Since I was back at Chelsea, Olivier was brilliant as a professional and as a man in general,” said manager Frank Lampard in a statement to the club.
“He ‘s got great qualities to support the squad on and off the pitch, not only with his talent but with the example he sets every day and the experience he brings to our young squad. I am very glad that next season will start.
Caballero, who joined in 2017 from Manchester City, has played 9 games this season.
“I have faith in Willy, he trains well and he is a fantastic professional. He joined the squad earlier this year and showed his consistency and his experience in the locker room is invaluable, “said Lampard.
