Spin-bowling all-rounder Krishnappa Gowtham has in his Indian Premier League career so far put in some memorable performances. In the cash-rich T20 League, the Karnataka spinner has played Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, featuring some brilliant players against. In a recent interview the 31-year-old had a difficult decision to make when Gowtham was asked about his favourite captain.
While two of the IPL’s most successful skippers are MS Dhoni and Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli has been an inspiration for Royal Challengers Bangalore. Speaking to CricTracker, the Karnataka all-rounder was asked to make a pick between Kohli and Rohit, and he went in favour of the latter when it comes to IPL captaincy.
“I ‘d say Rohit Sharma because I’ve been playing in his team and we’ve won the IPL tournament under him,” he said.
But overall, Gowtham had little trouble picking Dhoni as the finest captain in the T20 league’s history.
When it came to picking one between AB de Villiers and Andre Russell, though Gowtham confessed to being a fan of the hard-hitter Windies for what he’d done in the IPL over the last couple of seasons, he still went with the South African.
