Captain Virat Kohli led Indian cricketers paid tribute to doctors on National Doctors Day, at a time when many of them are serving as frontline warriors in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Not just today but we should honor the spirit of our doctors and healthcare staff every day. Thank you for your contribution to helping so many people. I appreciate your passion and devotion,” Kohli said on Wednesday in a tweet.

“We all know the bravery and courage displayed by our Doctors in these tough times. Words can not explain what their actions mean to us. I just want to wish them the best. A humble request to all citizens to adhere to their protocols & make it easier for them” said India’s white-ball vice-captain, Rohit Sharma.

All-rounder Hardik Pandya thanked doctors for helping him recover from his injuries, walking slowly with the aid of a medical person with a video of him.

“Thanks to all the doctors who have personally helped me heal from the injuries that come with becoming a professional athlete. Owe a lot to everyone who helps keep us in good shape,” Hardik said on Twitter along with the video.
