Google’s tech giant is ready for its grand Google for India 2020 gathering, but this will be a virtual one, unlike last year, starting online today at 2 pm.

Sundar Pichai, CEO, Google and Alphabet, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Honorable Minister of Communications, Electronics & Information Technology and Law & Justice, Government of India, and some other leaders will grace the online event and “share the vision and path ahead to meet the needs of India and bring the benefits of the digital economy to everyone,” Google noted in an official post.

What you can expect

Every year the company hosts the Google for India event, where it unveils an assortment of products for its country users. While Google hasn’t officially announced what will be announced at the event, this will be the 6th edition and Google is expected to show off a new range of devices like every year.

A recent company tweet revealed that in addition to Sundar Pichai, Sanjay Gupta, Google India Country Head and Vice President, Caesar Sengupta, Google Vice President Payments, and Next Billion Users and Sapna Chadha, Google Senior Country Marketing Director India and Southeast Asia will also make some significant announcements at the event.

Last year, Google unveiled tokenised cards, an artificial intelligence lab in Bengaluru, BSNL partnership, Google Pay for Business app for merchants and expanded Indian language support across its products such as Google Assistant, Discover, Lens and Bolo.

How to watch broadcast live
The event will be streamed Monday, July 13, 2020, on Google India’s YouTube Channel at 2:00 pm IST. Alternatively you will catch the event right here.
